In 2018 the Royal Mint issued this lovely £5 Silver Proof coin to celebrate four generations of the Royal family.
For the first time Her Majesty the Queen, her son The Prince of Wales, her grandson His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge, and her great-grandson Prince George have been honoured together on this coin.
Five years on from the christening of Prince George, her Majesty celebrated her sapphire anniversary of her coronation, The Prince of Wales 70th birthday and Prince George of Cambridge 5th birthday.
The last time four generations of the Royal family were celebrated together was in 1894 under the reign of Queen Victoria.
This design has been approved by the Palace.
As a celebration of the Royal family, recognisable elements from the Badge of the House of Windsor, such as the oak branches and coronet. All four generations have been represented equally, and because Prince George does not receive his coat of arms or coronet until he is 18. The designer Timothy Noad, represents each generation with the initials of their first names : E,C, W and G.
The silver proof five pound coin comes complete with numbered Certificate of Authenticity, box, information booklet, box and cardboard outer.
