Set in the future the science fiction series follows the adventures of Captain James T Kirk, and his crew, this coin features Captain Kirk’s right-hand man Spock (played by Leonard Nimoy 1931-2015). Who is part human part vulcan.
Since Star Trek’s release, it has developed into a cultural phenomenon with a range of spin off television series and a number of feature films over the last 5 decades.
Spock was born in 2230, on the planet Vulcan to a Vulcan ambassador Sarek and Amanda Grayson, a human teacher. Spock initially served as a Star fleet officer for several decades before going on to become a Federation ambassador. He graduated from the star Fleet Academy in 2251. As a young lieutenant he served a science officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 under the company of Captain Christopher Pike. When Captain James T. Kirk took command of the vessel in 2265, Spock was promoted to first officer. He remained in that role for the duration of Kirk’s five year mission. It was during that mission that the legendary friendship between, Spock, Kirk and Dr Leonard McCoy was forged.
Eventually Spock was promoted to Captain, training new junior officers at Star Fleet Academy under the supervision of his old friend Admiral Kirk.
The coin comes complete with numbered Certificate of Authenticity, communicator housing, box and protective sleeve.
