On the 15th August 1945, World War II ended, after 6 long years of conflict and the loss of millions of lives. Although the war ended in Europe, in June, the war continued in the far east, until the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, forced the surrender of Japan.
One hopes that this part of our shared history never happens again, and we never forget the ultimate sacrifice that many men made.
