Perth Mint has issued this lovely Antiqued 2oz Silver Brilliant Uncirculated $2 Coin. The abacus was a calculating tool of great importance to the merchants along the 64,000 kilometers of Silk Road trade routes. Struck from 2 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver with a hand applied antiqued finish, the coin features an innovative inset abacus. Mintage is limited to only 2,500.
The reverse features a collage of wares traditionally traded along the Silk Road, including such items as pottery, textiles, fruit, paper, fragrances and spices, along with travelers on camelback and the Perth Mint’s “P” Mint mark. The antiqued design surrounds an abacus inset at the coin’s center.
On the obverse, the abacus is bordered by a circle of counting beads, with the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by Ian Rank-Broadley above, and the inscription “QUEEN ELIZABETH II” below. The design is flanked by the additional inscriptions “2 OZ 9999 AG 2019” and “2 DOLLARS TUVALU.”
This lovely coin comes complete with Certificate of Authenticity and is sealed in a stylish, framed acrylic display case as packaged by the Mint, with a themed outer box and individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
