In 2017 the Royal Mint issued the first platinum Proof one pound coin.
to celebrate the brand new issue of the 2017 12 sided new pound coin.
Only 250 coin were issued , and this one is number: 038
The new 12 sided coin, designed by David Pearce
features the four national floral emblems of the countries
which are the United Kingdom.
The base metal version of the new design is set to be released into general circulation on the 28 March 2017,
is based on the old 12 sided threepence, which first entered into circulation in 1937.
This beautiful platinum coin, accented with fine gold is housed in a wooden display case, has been struck
to proof standard, and comes complete in original mint sealed condition
with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity
