In 2017 the Royal Mint issued lovely Gold Proof two coin set,
featuring the last ’round pound’ and the brand new issue of the 2017 12 sided new pound coin.
Only 100 set were made, and this one is number: 086
The first pound coin was issued in 1983 and featured the Royal Coat of Arms
of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The new 12 sided coin, designed by David Pearce
features the four national floral emblems of the countries
which are the United Kingdom.
The lase metal version of the new design is set to be released into general circulation on the 28 March 2017,
is based on the old 12 sided threepence, which first entered into circulation in 1937.
These beautiful gold coins housed in a wooden display case, have been struck
to proof standard, and comes complete in original mint sealed condition
and a numbered Certificate of Authenticity
