IN 2009 the Royal Mint issued this gold coin, to commemorate the opening of the Kew Gardens by Princess Augusta in 1759, the Princess wanted to devote a few acres of her garden, to rare and unusual plants so they could be cultivated for study. In 2009 the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew celebrates its 250th anniversary. The reverse of the coin depicts the famous China Pagoda.
This coins comes complete, with numbered 100 certificate, wooden box and cardboard outer.
