Born in 1926 our Queen was named Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary and was the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York. Nobody thought when she was born, that one she would become Queen. Yet in 1936 her uncle King Edward VIII abdicated, her father became king and the young Princess became first in line to the throne.
Our Queen, has been a credit to our nation, and her whole life has been dedicated to the service of the nation.
It is only fitting that the Royal Mint issued this crown to commemorate her 80th Birthday.
