In 1997 Perth Mint issued this 1oz  Silver Brilliant Uncirculated coin, with a  Thomas Edison privy mark.

To celebrate 150th Anniversary of Thomas Edison’s birth.

He  invented, the phonograph, motion pictures, the mircophone and perhaps his most famous invention

the incandescent electric light.

He was awarded  the Congressional Medal in 1928 and part of the inscription reads:

‘He illuminated the path of progress by his inventions.’

The coin bears a ‘lightbulb’  privy mark, positioned on a pure gold insert

The coins comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity and box
